New Zealand – September 2009

Back at the bottom, I did some sight seeing along the waterfront. The boilers in the coal-fired TSS Earnslaw were lit and it was building steam in preparation for a cruise. A boat cruise on Lake Wakatipu would have been fun on this nearly 100 year-old vessel but I didn’t have time to take that and get back to Christchurch at a reasonable hour.

On the way out of Queenstown I saw that the bungy jumping bridge was open and I decided to stop and watch people jump. Everyone screams going down, it doesn’t matter how tough they think they are.

I backtracked to Cromwell, stopped to take some pictures overlooking Lake Dunstan at the Bruce Jackson Lookout.

So many options
Balance the camera on a rock, press the shutter, run back to the bike, jump on, look relaxed...

Then I continued south on Rt 8, to the Clyde Dam.
