I’ve taken delivery of a new 2014 Honda Goldwing. I bought it at Schroaders Honda in Hendersonville, NC. I actually met 4 generations of Schroaders the morning that I picked up the bike. It was a very pleasant experience.
Leaving Hendersonville, I headed West on US 64 to Pisgah, then took 276 to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Courtney and I had ridden down 276 from the BRP several years ago, stopping to enjoy Looking Glass Falls. This day, it was all uphill and I was enjoying every minute. From there, it was south to Cherokee. It had been a stormy week and I hit rain before the end of the BRP. I donned my rain gear, arrived in town and decided to call it a day.
The following day was spent enjoying US 28, Deals Gap and the Cherohala Skyway.
At the end of the day I headed to Highlands NC via Wayah Rd (1310) and Rt 64, then down to Dillard GA on 246. Back to Highlands in the morning to see the town in the daylight, then the long ride home through eastern GA – rural, flat and hot. I got home with 995 miles on the bike, just perfect for the first oil change at 1000 miles.
Let the farkling begin…
